Night Shift Truck Loader

Location: Salem Warehouse
Starting Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday
Shift: 5:00 PM until work is completed

Layman Distributing is looking for dependable, hard-working Night Shift Truck Loaders to join our Salem warehouse team. Our loaders play a critical role in our operation: they take the orders prepared by our warehouse team and build the delivery trucks that will serve our customers the next day.

This is not a slow-paced warehouse job. It is active, physical work in a fast-moving environment. You will lift, stack, organize, palletize, and load product throughout your shift. The work can be demanding, but for someone who enjoys working hard, staying active, and being part of a team, it can also be incredibly rewarding.

What You'll Do

As a Night Shift Truck Loader, you'll help make sure every delivery truck is loaded accurately, safely, and ready to roll.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Hand-stacking plastic totes, cardboard boxes, beverage cases, and other products into delivery trucks
• Building stable, organized loads that protect product and make deliveries easier for our drivers
• Following established load plans and route sequences so products are loaded in the correct order
• Palletizing product and using automated equipment to securely wrap pallets
• Moving and loading pallets using powered pallet jacks
• Checking loads for accuracy and helping catch problems before trucks leave the warehouse
• Adjusting as orders, routes, and priorities change throughout the night
• Working closely with order selectors, supervisors, drivers, and other members of the warehouse team
• Keeping the loading area clean, organized, and safe
• Following company safety procedures and equipment guidelines

Previous warehouse, truck-loading, distribution, or powered pallet jack experience is helpful, but not required.

This Is a Physical Job

We want applicants to know what to expect before they join the team.

Truck loading requires frequent:

• Lifting and carrying
• Bending and reaching
• Stacking and organizing cases and totes
• Pushing and pulling product
• Standing and walking throughout the shift
• Moving cases, totes, and pallets repeatedly
• Working inside and around delivery trucks

You must be able to safely perform the physical duties of the position throughout the workday.
