Job Title: CDL Sanitation Truck Driver

Location: The Villages, FL

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) required
• Current DOT medical card required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Ability to lead and manage a 2–3 person crew
• 2+ years of commercial driving experience within the past 5 years preferred
• Waste industry experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Operate a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect and transport solid waste
• Load, transport, and dispose of waste at designated disposal sites
• Follow established routes and schedules using route maps
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure truck is properly fueled, serviced, cleaned, and in safe working condition
• Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and regulations
• Perform light preventative maintenance as needed
• Provide professional and courteous interaction with residents and the public
• Respond to emergency service needs as required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity
• Exposure to traffic, moving machinery, dust, fumes, noise, odors, and potential hazards
• Required to wear assigned PPE at all times
• Ability to:
• • Sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist, kneel, and squat
  • Lift up to 50 lbs (including bulky or awkward items)
  • Climb in and out of vehicles with high ground clearance
  • Perform repetitive hand movements and operate equipment
  • Maintain adequate vision and hearing (with or without correction)

Additional Requirements

• Steel toe shoes required
• Strong attendance and punctuality required
• Must pass background check and drug screening
