Veterinary Technician

Position Title Veterinary Technician Required Minimum Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in a veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) or the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). Registered, licensed, or certified as a veterinary technician within one year of the start date. Legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. We're looking for you! The Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center offers evaluation, medical care, and surgical treatment to animals with urgent medical needs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Successful candidates hired into a Veterinary Technician I/II/III position in the College of Veterinary Medicine's Small Animal Intensive Care Unit between February 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026 may be eligible to receive a recruitment incentive of $1,000. Responsibilities Provide technical skills and nursing care to small animal ICU patients under the supervision of clinicians and house officers. Coordinate and assist with patient diagnostics, procedures, and other necessary treatments. Instruct and demonstrate veterinary care and technical skills to 4th‑year veterinary students. Triage and stabilize incoming ER patients, providing advanced nursing care for ICU patients and recognizing changes in animal health. Maintain attention to detail and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, house officers, and staff members.
