Equipment Operator Compost & Transfer Operations

Mid Valley Disposal is looking for skilled and safety-driven Equipment Operators to support our Compost and Transfer Station operations. If you're comfortable working with heavy machinery, take pride in maintaining equipment, and don't mind getting your hands dirty, this is a great opportunity to join a team that keeps essential operations moving every day.

What You'll Do

You'll play a key role in keeping materials flowing safely and efficiently by operating heavy equipment and supporting daily site operations.

Equipment Operation

• Operate front-end loaders, excavators, grinders, screens, forklifts, and related equipment
• Perform daily inspections and report maintenance needs
• Keep equipment clean and in good working condition
• Follow daily production schedules and safety protocols

Compost Operations (as assigned)

• Process organic materials through grinding, screening, and loading systems
• Monitor compost quality and system performance
• Load materials into bunkers and transfer trailers
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready yard

Transfer Station Operations (as assigned)

• Move, sort, and load materials on the tipping floor
• Monitor incoming loads for contamination or hazardous waste
• Direct traffic and assist drivers as needed
• Help maintain a clean and safe working environment

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating heavy equipment (loaders, forklifts, excavators, or similar)
• Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with equipment inspections
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
• Comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding environment
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
• Shift Flexible

Education: High School Diploma or GED required Preferred: Experience in composting, waste, or industrial operations

Work Environment

This is a hands-on role in an active industrial setting. You'll be working around:

• Heavy equipment, dust, and noise
• Outdoor conditions (heat, cold, and weather exposure)
• Waste and compost materials

The role involves a mix of equipment operation and physical activity, including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting.
