Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Machine Safety Engineer – Machine Guarding in Chicago, IL. This is an onsite contract, initially 6 weeks with strong potential for long-term extension.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of machine safety/machine guarding experience
- Hands-on machine guarding and safety assessments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA machine guarding requirements
- Working knowledge of ANSI B11 machine safety standards
- Experience with lathes, mills, presses, saws, grinders, drills, or similar machinery
- Ability to identify pinch points, guarding gaps, access hazards, and other machine risks
- Experience recommending practical corrective/guarding solutions
- Guarding design, modification, or implementation experience preferred
- Ability to create/interpret drawings, sketches, or guarding specifications
The initial project involves assessing approximately 50 production machines, documenting deficiencies, prioritizing risks, and recommending corrective actions. The next phase is expected to focus on implementing the guarding improvements.
