Seeking a Paralegal to manage Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters from intake through discharge.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established bankruptcy law firm serving individuals and families navigating financial challenges. The firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal/Office Manager to support a busy consumer bankruptcy practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while providing professional and compassionate client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters from intake through discharge.
• Gather, organize, and review client financial documentation.
• Prepare bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and other required court filings.
• File documents electronically through CM/ECF.
• Communicate with clients regarding documentation requirements, deadlines, and case status.
• Coordinate and prepare clients for 341 Meetings of Creditors.
• Draft routine pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Monitor case deadlines and maintain accurate, organized case files.
• Communicate with trustees, creditors, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and provide excellent client service.
• Support attorneys and other staff in the day-to-day management of bankruptcy matters.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience, preferably in consumer bankruptcy.
• Strong knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy procedures.
• Experience with bankruptcy software such as Best Case, MyCase, or similar platforms.
• Experience with CM/ECF electronic filing systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in a high-volume bankruptcy practice.
• Familiarity with local bankruptcy court rules and procedures.
• Spanish-language skills are a plus but not required.
