Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry/Neuro Stepdown unit position requiring neurology experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00) in the Telemetry/Neuro Stepdown unit of a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Cares for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses including CVA, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Provides cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Administers and monitors procedural sedation
• Manages respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required between units and sister facilities
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale and post-surgical neurology patient care
• Epic EMR experience required
• Compact license must be active and in hand at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Hospital is a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds
• Teaching hospital environment
• Scrubs: any color accepted for RN and RRT roles
• No parking fees
• Must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with additional coverage support needed specifically for Christmas
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for post-offer schedule changes
• Previous Providence employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles may be considered at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
