Speech-Language Pathologist

Position Type: Special Education/ Speech and Language Pathologist Location: Atherton Community Schools - Districtwide, including Private Schools Reports To: Building Principal/Supervisor of Student Services Start Date: 2026-2027 School Year The speech-language pathologist evaluates students to identify speech, language, voice, and communication disorders; develops and implements individualized therapy services aligned with IEP goals; provides direct and consultative services; collaborates with staff, families, and related service providers; participates in evaluations and IEP meetings; monitors student progress and maintains required documentation; supports the use of assistive communication tools as needed; and ensures compliance with all applicable state, federal, and district regulations, including Medicaid billing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct screenings and assessments and provide written evaluations for suspected students with disabilities or special education students in the areas of articulation, fluency, voice, language, and autism spectrum disorders. Provide direct and indirect speech and language services to eligible students. Develop and write annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for students assigned to caseload. Attend and actively participate in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individualized Education Planning Committee (IEPT) meetings for all students on caseload. Compile and maintain records and written reports for students assigned to the caseload in a timely manner. Provide inclusionary interdisciplinary service to eligible students. Other duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications: Master's degree in speech and language pathology. Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) through American Speech-Language Hearing Association ASHA. State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Board of Speech Pathology: Speech Pathology License. Previous experience with working with students with disabilities, their related educational needs and the IEP mandates preferred. Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate orally and in writing. Ability to make decisions in accordance with Board policies and special education mandates/law with minimal supervision.
