Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to the elderly across a wide spectrum of acuity levels
• Manage and titrate a variety of critical drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms and interpret monitor readings independently
• Perform and assist with lab draws alongside ED techs; collaborate with respiratory therapy on ventilator and airway equipment as needed
• Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting; support charge nurses and the care team during critical patient events
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including every-other-weekend rotation and holiday coverage based on department needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current ENPC or PALS certification
• Current TNCC or TNS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Ability to pass a multi-panel drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• SANE RN experience
• Prior experience working in a teaching hospital environment with residents
• Familiarity with Philips monitoring systems
• Experience managing a broad range of critically ill patients including strokes, cardiac arrests, and Level 1/2 traumas
