Security Assistant

The Security Assistant is responsible for supporting the issuance, management, and control of identification badges and access credentials. This position also serves as the key point of contact for staff and visitors requiring identification and access services.

In this position, you will:

GS-05

• Perform ID Office functions in accordance with ID Management and Physical Security Program policies and directives.
• Receive and ensure required credentialing forms are properly completed.
• Review forms to identify errors or omissions, return them as needed and follow up to obtain missing or incomplete information.
• Greet and assist visitors and staff at the ID Office service counter, answer inquiries, and provide general access guidance.
• Assist in the daily operation of the ID Office, including inventory control of blank badges and accessories, ordering supplies, and maintaining records of distributed materials.

• Provide clerical support to the ID Office Supervisor, including drafting correspondence, maintaining files, and assisting in the preparation of reports or briefings related to ID operations.
