Ramsey, NJ (Hybrid/Onsite)
$250,000–$350,000 + Milestone-Based Bonus

Description / Position Overview

The company has reached a stage where engineering must evolve from startup execution into a structured, scalable, high-performing organization.

This role exists to build the systems, leadership, accountability, and engineering discipline needed to support continued growth while improving delivery speed, quality, and predictability.

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader who has successfully scaled SaaS organizations, built strong teams, improved execution, and created engineering cultures built around ownership and accountability.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands both technology and operations and can translate business goals into engineering results.

What You'll Own

Engineering Organization

• Build and scale a high-performing engineering team

• Develop engineering managers, team leads, and individual contributors

• Create accountability, performance standards, and career development frameworks

• Establish an ownership-driven engineering culture

Software Delivery & Execution

• Own engineering velocity, sprint execution, release quality, and delivery predictability

• Implement scalable Agile processes, workflows, and operating rhythms

• Improve planning, prioritization, estimation, and execution discipline

• Remove bottlenecks that slow delivery and impact business objectives

Technology Strategy

• Own architecture, scalability, reliability, and long-term platform health

• Balance product delivery, technical debt, performance, and future growth requirements

• Establish engineering standards for development, testing, documentation, and releases

• Ensure technology decisions support business priorities

Leadership & Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product, Operations, and Executive Leadership

• Translate business goals into engineering execution

• Drive alignment between business priorities and technical resources

• Serve as the senior technology leader across the organization

Must-Haves

• Experience leading engineering organizations within a SaaS environment

• Proven success scaling engineering teams through periods of rapid growth

• Strong technical foundation in C#/.NET with prior hands-on development experience

• Experience building engineering structure, process, and accountability

• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, sprint management, and software delivery

• Experience managing engineering managers, technical leads, and developers

• Demonstrated success improving engineering performance and delivery outcomes

• Strong operational leadership skills with experience building scalable organizations

• Ability to make difficult decisions, hold teams accountable, and drive execution

Success Metrics

Within the first 6–12 months, success will include:

• Improved sprint predictability and delivery consistency

• Faster release cycles without sacrificing quality

• Reduced production issues and technical debt

• Increased engineering team performance and accountability

• Strong documentation, planning, and development standards implemented

• Improved collaboration between Engineering, Product, and Leadership

• Successful hiring and development of key engineering talent
