Purpose and Scope Coordinate and facilitate day-to-day operations within the Department of Outreach and Communication, leading planning, development, evaluation, and improvement of outreach and communication initiatives. Serve as a liaison and represent the department through written, print, and digital media, promoting awareness of departmental projects and publications. Essential Job Functions Write communications, including publications, newsletters, and mass email distribution to the LSC community. Maintain the department’s website, ensuring it is updated with current information. Act as social media coordinator to promote the department’s online presence. Conduct research on outreach and communication best practices, developing presentations for internal and external constituents. Create evaluation methods for outreach initiatives; analyze results and recommend revisions to improve programs. Enter, track, and maintain data in documents, spreadsheets, and databases. Coordinate and manage departmental calendars, scheduling meetings, seminars, and events, including site selection and preparation of marketing and training materials. Monitor and control resources such as marketing materials and equipment, submitting requisitions and approving purchase requests in accordance with the budget. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to processes and documentation. Assist with management of the marketing and outreach budget. Lead or participate in special projects as needed. Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to accuracy and detail. Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications. Ability to prepare and analyze reports. Excellent organizational skills. Strong multi-tasking abilities and ability to prioritize duties. High level of customer service. Effective oral and written communication skills. Experience in editing, social media, and e-communications. Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. The employee may walk, stand, bend, carry light items, or drive an automobile, but no special physical demands are required. Work Schedule & Conditions Workstation on LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, with calculator, phone, and standard office equipment. Contact with internal and external stakeholders as needed. Work performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal safety hazards. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in video production. Experience in graphic design. Salary Hiring salary range is $48,152 to $55,375 annually based on related experience and education.
