About the Role:

The Warehouse Lead plays a critical role in overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate handling of inventory and shipments. This position is responsible for leading a team of warehouse associates, coordinating workflow, and maintaining high standards of productivity and quality control. The Warehouse Lead acts as a liaison between warehouse staff and management, facilitating communication and problem-solving to meet operational goals. They are also accountable for enforcing safety protocols and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Warehouse Lead ensures that all warehouse activities support the broader supply chain objectives and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
• Strong understanding of inventory control and shipping/receiving procedures.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required by warehouse tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
• Experience with transportation and warehousing industry standards and regulations.
• Certification in forklift operation and safety.
• Demonstrated leadership training or certification.
• Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse team members to promote professional development and performance excellence.
• Collaborate with logistics, shipping, and receiving departments to optimize workflow and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain detailed records of warehouse activities, including shipments, receipts, and inventory adjustments.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.

The Warehouse Lead utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills daily to manage team workflows and ensure operational efficiency. Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating between staff and management, as well as for training and mentoring team members. Proficiency with warehouse management systems and technology enables accurate tracking of inventory and shipments. Problem-solving skills are applied to address logistical challenges and implement process improvements. Additionally, a solid understanding of safety protocols ensures a secure work environment, minimizing risks and maintaining compliance.
