Capital One's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization has responsibility for helping the overall organization identify, manage, and mitigate key risks that may keep the company from achieving its strategic objectives.We are currently seeking a Director to join the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization to support our efforts to transform Risk Management, including reimagining methodology design, process execution, risk metrics strategy, and technology enablement in a world of agentic AI. The Director will have the opportunity to apply risk management and analytical skills to some of our highest profile Risk Management projects, including implementing solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. This includes bringing unique perspectives and experiences to help us be rigorous, curious, and creative, as well as enabling our organizations to maintain a sustainable and holistic risk profile in order to deliver superior products while also protecting our customers.Additionally, this role is expected to develop key governance analysis and reporting for Senior Management.This leader must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail, process/project management capability, and results driven competencies are essential to succeeding in this role. This individual should feel comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative information and can move from the "gray" area to grounded recommendation in an organized and transparent manner.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Identify opportunities to improve our Risk Management processes and execute well-managed change to strategies, methodologies, governance, and reporting elementsSynthesize and elevate information to executive levelsLeverage data, metrics, and analysis to create a comprehensive approach to monitoring our process improvement strategies as they move through the organizationCultivate data sources to feed metrics/reporting; clearly define intent/requirements for creation and ongoing enhancements of an enterprise risk metric system of recordPerform and support detailed validation data analysis to include trending, problem identification, and development/completion of remediation plansConsult on analysis and reporting outcomes to observe trends and provide insights on changes to the Company's risk environmentsCollaborate effectively with stakeholders and leaders across multiple organizations to achieve objectivesPlay a key role in contributing to the effective design and delivery of our risk management frameworkDemonstrate problem-solving and analysis skills with attention to detailDemonstrate strong communication, collaboration, problem solving and influencing skills across various levels of the organizationActively support internal and external audits and examsStay abreast of the changing regulatory environment and understand the impacts to Capital OneBalance multiple priorities to help drive business value and support team objectives, while managing tasks and activities related to risk management initiatives in a well-managed capacityLead a team of professionals to advise and consult key stakeholders to drive effective risk identification, assessment, and disposition.Set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teamsFoster an environment of trust, collaboration & belonging while leading a team of risk managersBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 4 years of Financial Services experienceAt least 6 years of Risk Management experienceAt least 2 years of People Management experiencePreferred Qualifications:Masters Degree8+ years of Financial Services risk management experience7+ years of experience in Project or Process Management5+ years of internal strategy or management consulting experience leading cross functional financial services projects and programs5+ years of people management experienceAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Chicago, IL: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk ManagementMcLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Risk ManagementRichmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk ManagementRiverwoods, IL: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk ManagementCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
