We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper OR AP/AR Specialist to support accounting functions across multiple entities in a collaborative, small-office environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values accuracy, and can thrive with minimal supervision. Schedule: M-F between 8am-5pm RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including A/P and A/R processing
- Handle month-end and quarter-end closing activities
- Assist in compiling tax-related information and preparing 1099s
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions
- Post and record bank deposits and vendor payments
- Maintain general ledger accounts and assist with journal entries, including payroll entries
- Support the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements
- Collaborate with outside CPA/tax preparer during year-end and for ongoing compliance
- Help maintain and improve accounting procedures and recordkeeping systems
- Assist in budget tracking and comparing actuals to budgeted expenses
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date files for all financial records
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping and accounting support experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (required) and Excel (intermediate to advanced)
- Experience with Microsoft Access is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, professional environment
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic
