Location: Gulf Island, Louisiana

Position Overview

Mecca Talent is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director for a growing organization in Gulf Island, Louisiana. This key leadership position will oversee the Human Resources function while partnering closely with executive leadership and operational management.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader who can balance strategic initiatives with the day-to-day needs of employees and managers. This individual will play an important role in recruiting, employee relations, compliance, performance management, compensation, benefits, workforce planning, and company culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall Human Resources function and HR strategy.
• Partner with executive leadership and management on workforce planning, staffing, employee development, and organizational growth.
• Oversee recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
• Manage employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and performance concerns.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Oversee performance management, employee evaluations, coaching, and development.
• Manage compensation and benefits programs.
• Support payroll and timekeeping processes as needed.
• Oversee leave administration, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and other employee-related programs.
• Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation.
• Develop strategies to improve employee engagement, retention, communication, and workplace culture.
• Provide leadership with recommendations based on workforce trends and business needs.
• Serve as a trusted resource for both employees and management.
• Develop scalable HR processes and systems that support continued organizational growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience , including HR management or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compliance, recruiting, compensation, and benefits.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, construction, energy, marine, fabrication, or similar workforce is strongly preferred.
• Ability to effectively work with executive leadership, managers, and frontline employees.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters professionally.
• Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.

Compensation

• Base Salary: Approximately $100,000 annually , depending on experience.
