This contract-based position allows you to connect virtually with a dedicated 16-year-old who requires expert instruction and compassionate support due to a rare genetic condition, arthrogryposis, scoliosis, and significant mobility limitations. This flexible, part-time role (10 hours per week) allows you to deliver instruction online from anywhere, shaping your schedule around daytime or after-school availability. The assignment runs from ASAP through 5/27/2027, providing stability and ongoing engagement.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active and valid Texas Special Education Teacher Certification
- Experience with virtual or online teaching platforms
- Sensitivity and adaptability to unique student physical and educational needs
- Strong communication skills for engaging with students and collaborating with caregivers
- Ability to develop and implement individualized instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized instruction to one student, adapting content for virtual learning
- Collaborate with family and support teams to address both academic and therapeutic student goals
- Track and report student progress, adjusting instruction based on evolving needs
- Maintain organized lesson plans, materials, and records in compliance with educational standards
