About the Role
Marketing at M&I is about building trust, strengthening our brand, creating meaningful connections, and helping businesses understand how technology can improve their success.
As our Marketing Specialist, you’ll own the tactical execution of M&I’s marketing initiatives while serving as an ambassador for our company throughout the communities we serve. You’ll help ensure our brand is represented consistently across every touchpoint, from community events and speaking engagements to our website, social media, webinars, podcasts, client success stories, and digital marketing campaigns.
This is a highly collaborative, execution-focused role. You’ll work closely with company leadership, sales, technical teams, strategic partners, vendors, and community organizations to bring ideas to life. Whether you’re coordinating a client event, creating a campaign, updating website content, developing a case study, or attending a networking event, you’ll play a direct role in strengthening M&I’s reputation and supporting our long-term growth.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates exceptionally well, and takes pride in turning ideas into action. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, creative, detail-oriented, and equally comfortable representing M&I in the community as they are developing content from a device.

Summary of Responsibilities
Community Engagement & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, strategic partners, vendors, and industry associations.
- Represent M&I at Chamber of Commerce events, networking functions, nonprofit events, and community activities.
- Identify, coordinate, and support speaking opportunities for company leadership.
- Manage sponsorships and ensure M&I maintains a strong, professional presence within the communities we serve.
- Identify opportunities that increase brand awareness and strengthen strategic relationships.
Events & Experiences
- Plan and execute educational seminars, webinars, lunch-and-learns, and prospect-focused events.
- Coordinate event logistics including venues, vendors, registrations, marketing materials, budgets, and follow-up activities.
- Ensure every event reflects M&I’s commitment to professionalism and exceptional client experiences.
- Track event performance and recommend improvements for future initiatives.
Brand & Content Management
- Manage and maintain M&I’s website, ensuring content remains current, accurate, and aligned with company messaging.
- Develop and publish engaging content across social media platforms.
- Gather client testimonials and create compelling case studies that highlight client success.
- Assist with blogs, newsletters, podcasts, videos, and other educational content.
- Ensure all marketing materials align with M&I’s brand standards and messaging framework.
Digital Marketing
- Execute marketing campaigns using HubSpot and other marketing platforms.
- Manage digital advertising initiatives via LinkedIn, and other lead generation efforts.
- Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements based on data and analytics.
- Assist with SEO initiatives and website optimization.
Internal Marketing Support
- Collaborate with Partner Success and company leadership to develop marketing materials that support business development.
- Coordinate promotional items, branded materials, signage, and collateral.
- Maintain the annual marketing calendar and ensure initiatives remain on schedule.
- Support internal communications, company announcements, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Document marketing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency.
Additional Responsibilities
- Enter activities, time, and expenses into PSA in a timely manner.
- Complete training on company systems and maintain an understanding of M&I’s services and business workflows.
- Follow cybersecurity best practices for handling company and client information.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuously seek opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who is both creative and highly organized - someone who enjoys building relationships just as much as executing projects. Ideal qualifications include:
- Two or more years of professional experience in marketing, communications, event planning, business development.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational and project management abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for networking and relationship-building.
- Comfortable representing M&I at community events, networking functions, and client activities.
- Experience with social media platforms including LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Experience using HubSpot, Canva, Google Ads, Microsoft Office, or similar marketing tools.
- Familiarity with StoryBrand messaging or other client-focused marketing frameworks.
- Experience leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity and content creation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment.
