About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience required License: Active RN license in the state or compact RN license that complies with the NLC guidelines Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Level I Trauma experience required - Travel experience required - Large hospital experience required - Previous charge experience preferred Description: The role involves working in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry setting. The nurse will be part of a team nursing model, with a patient ratio of 1:12. This ratio effectively reduces the workload to about 1:6 or 1:7 due to split responsibilities among RNs, LPNs, and medication nurses. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of recent experience in the specialty. First-time travelers will not be accepted unless they have over five years of experience in the specialty. Candidates should be prepared to work occasional on-call shifts and weekend shifts as needed. Please note that local candidates (within a 100-mile radius) will not be accepted. All candidates must be in compliance with NLC guidelines and hold the necessary certifications. Requested Time Off must be included at the time of submission, as changes to requests after submission will not be honored. This position requires experience with surgical oncology and medical oncology patients, including those with central lines, drains, ostomies, and Foleys. The daily census may average between 30 to 35 patients. The facility will provide interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The nurse may also engage in wound care, administering chemotherapy, and managing PCA pumps. Floating may occur between like units as necessary. Candidates should be flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the unit.
