Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule: 36 Hours, Varies, Potential for every third weekend

Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 Weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36

Requirements:

• Current state nursing license
• IV competent
• CPR certification required
• NRP certified or ability to obtain NRP certification within 90 days of hire
• ACLS upon hire or must hold an active BLS card and obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire
• For nurses working in Labor and Delivery, must have/complete AWHONN's Introduction to Fetal Monitoring and attend AWHONN's Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring within 1 year
• Minimum one year of med/surg experience required
• Maternity experience preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assess and reassess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care plans.
• Provide patient care based on established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Deliver patient and family education tailored to identified learning needs.
• Collaboratively plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems.
• Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with physician's orders.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate with physicians regarding any changes.
• Assist in stabilizing high-risk patients and provide care to postpartum and gynecological patients.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of newborns and provide appropriate care and education to new mothers.
