Host and Guest Greeter at House of England - Balboa Park
HOUSE OF ENGLAND
House of England is one of the 32 International Cottages in beautiful Balboa Park, and we are looking for volunteer hosts.
Every Saturday and Sunday, visitors from near and far stop by the cottages to learn about different cultures and countries: England, France, Korea, Denmark, Hungary, Puerto Rico, and many others. We welcome guests with conversation, exhibits, and of course, a cup of tea.
You do NOT have to be English to volunteer! If you like Harry Potter, The Beatles, Jane Austen, or English history, culture, etc, that's enough.
Volunteers receive FREE PARKING during their shift.
Volunteers greet visitors, chat up guests, and offer tea. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and fun. Guests often share stories about living in England, traveling there, or planning a future visit.
The cottage is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 4pm. We welcome both full-shift and shorter-shift volunteers. Two hosts are typically on duty together.
House of England hosts are a fun group of people. We have monthly membership meetings, and periodic social gatherings.

The House of Pacific Relations cottage community was established in 1935 and is one of San Diego's hidden gems. If you'd enjoy meeting people from around the world and helping share a little English culture and hospitality, we'd love to hear from you.
