Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to every child we serve, and we are committed to supporting our staff in their professional growth and development.We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning. The COTA will play a vital role in delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to children with developmental disabilities, promoting independence and enhancing their ability to participate in daily activities. The ideal candidate will have six months of experience in a comparable job classification. Recent grads with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities are welcome to apply.Responsibilities:Implement individualized treatment plans developed by OTs to address children's specific needs and goals, including activities to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care tasks, and play skills.Conduct sessions in home or clinic settings (you choose the zip code you want to work in).Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children under the supervision of licensed OTs, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment as needed.Engage children and families/caregivers in therapy sessions, providing education and support on strategies to promote skill development and independence at home and in the community.Monitor children's progress regularly through ongoing assessments and document treatment sessions and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for therapy sessions, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and infection control protocols are followed.Participate in team meetings, and collaborative care planning sessions to discuss children's progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.Qualifications:Associates degree or equivalent.Valid AZ COTA LicenseExperience working with children with developmental disabilities, especially ASD, 6 months preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Fingerprint Clearance CardCPR/ First Aid/ Article 9 TrainingProfessional Liability InsuranceHighly motivated, self-starter.Benefits:Competitive wage based on experience and qualifications.Flexible scheduling options (full-time or part-time).Opportunities for professional development and continuing education.Supportive and collaborative work environment focused on excellence in patient care.Quick caseload building.Paid CEUsPaid CPR/ First Aid/ Article 9 TrainingElectronic Documentation accessible from any computer, smartphone or tablet.Materials Lending Library; access to company printer, resources.Direct Deposit paid every 7th and 22nd.Bi-Monthly staff meeting, often with special guest trainings.Holiday party and many opportunities for engagement with co-workers and the community.If you are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with developmental disabilities and meet the qualifications outlined above, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
