The mid-level role can pay up to $130K and the senior level role can pay up to $155K. They are particularly interested in folks who are located in the Western side of the US, but they will hire someone from basically anywhere in the US. More information: For a role like this, they will consider people either out of other consulting companies, or they will also consider engineers who are doing process-safety focused roles with manufacturing companies. PE (professional engineer) licensure is preferred, but not required. If the candidate holds a PE License, the title can be Industrial Process Safety Engineer, if not, then it will be Industrial Process Safety Consultant. What I primarily looking to see in their background is experience with DHA (dust-hazard analysis), PSM (an OSHA standard governing hazardous materials and processes), and previous process safety focused experience. For both roles, I need someone more experience - minimum of six years out of school for the mid-level role, minimum of 12 years of experience for the senior-level role. Location: Remote Compensation: $120,000-$150,000 base salary The company is a growing engineering consulting firm that helps industrial and manufacturing clients identify and manage combustible dust, chemical process, hazardous materials, fire, and explosion risks. The company is adding capacity to meet sustained demand and support a broader mix of projects and clients. Start timing is flexible. Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, such as chemical, fire protection, mechanical, or electrical engineering. At least 6 years of relevant experience in chemical or mechanical process design, combustible dust hazard analysis, explosion protection, process safety, or industrial risk consulting across industrial or manufacturing facilities. Strong combustible dust expertise, including experience leading or reviewing Dust Hazard Analyses; working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards, including NFPA 660 and the legacy commodity-specific standards, is strongly preferred. Ability to evaluate chemical inventories, safety data sheets, material test reports, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, control narratives, and engineering drawings to identify hazards and assess safeguards. Experience developing practical fire and explosion mitigation strategies involving venting, suppression, isolation, containment, detection, administrative controls, or electrical area classification.
