Company: Black & Veatch Family of Companies Overview Black & Veatch seeks a Principal Consultant and technical lead to deliver integrated resource management projects, focusing on market modeling through platforms such as PLEXOS and Encompass. Key Responsibilities Lead high‑complexity consulting tasks in support of project delivery, including: Integrated resource planning (IRP) support: scenario design, assumptions development, and documentation. Energy market modeling execution using PLEXOS and EnCompass (production cost, capacity expansion, and portfolio studies). Resource adequacy, reliability, and planning reserve margin assessments; evaluation of capacity accreditation and ELCC where applicable. Portfolio optimization and investment planning analyses (generation, storage, transmission, demand‑side resources) with sensitivities on load, fuel, policy, and technology costs. Model QA/QC, calibration, and results validation; develop repeatable workflows, templates, and clear client‑ready exhibits. Serve as a technical manager or director on strategy and planning projects, managing tasks, budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Provide technical subject‑matter expertise, apply best practices, and recommend innovative solutions to clients across all phases of an engagement. Provide thought leadership and be recognized as a company/industry expert through presentations, publications, conferences, and professional society committees. Lead client meetings and workshops, develop presentations, and communicate effectively with clients. Support business development activities, including developing scopes, schedules, and budgets. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree preferred. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience. Typically 10+ years of experience in a business or consulting environment. Certifications Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable, preferred. Work Environment / Physical Demands BandV Office Environment or Client Site – Travel up to 100%.
