Senior Trial Attorney – Costa Mesa Compensation: $180,000 – $300,000 per year. Location: Segerstrom Performing Arts Center, South Coast Plaza. Job Description A Senior Trial Attorney assists the Partner in managing multiple cases, including: Preparing litigation reports and risk assessments. Drafting legal documents (complaints, motions, pleadings, contracts). Making court appearances, depositions, hearings, and mediations. Developing case strategy and providing solutions to legal matters. Building relationships with clients, experts, and staff. Mentoring junior attorneys and staff. Responsibilities Assist with case evaluation, legal support, and guidance. Develop case strategy and find plausible solutions. Attend hearings, depositions, and focus groups. Stay current on legislation. Negotiate low‑level settlements and attend mediations. Finalize legal documents promptly and accurately. Interview, train, mentor, and manage legal staff as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a law‑related field. Juris Doctor or equivalent from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law / State Bar membership. 4–10 years of related experience. Second‑chair trial experience required. Willingness to meet personally with clients. Ability to handle a high caseload. Experience in a specific branch of law (preferred). Strong interpersonal, public‑speaking, and critical‑thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and on a team. Adaptability, attention to detail, and proactive problem‑solving. High emotional intelligence (EQ) and discretion.
