ADMITTING REPRESENTATIVE

Description
- Greet and register patients in a professional and courteous manner
- Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information accurately
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and obtain required authorizations
- Obtain required documentation and patient signatures
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff and other departments
- Answer and route incoming calls through the PBX/switchboard system
- Transfer calls to appropriate departments and provide general information to callers
- Respond to emergency codes and overhead paging as required
- Assist patients with registration, scheduling, and billing inquiries
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in healthcare registration, medical office support, customer service, or PBX/switchboard operations preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification procedures and medical terminology preferred
- Strong computer proficiency and accurate data entry skills
- Ability to operate a multi-line phone system efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
