Step into the cockpit of complex manufacturing programs

Picture your first week in Avon, Ohio. You open the day by syncing with cross-functional teammates spread across CDI’s four local sites and partner Re:Build entities around the U.S. By mid-morning, you’re mapping critical paths for multiple customer production programs—some running in-house, others involving outside processes—while launching a Lean event completion plan. After lunch, you jump in as the fixer for a midstream program that needs decisive stewardship. Before the day ends, you brief leadership and customers with crisp updates on quality, schedule, delivery, cost, and profit, then close the loop by capturing lessons learned for the next wave of projects.

What you will lead

• Own and execute comprehensive project plans—scope, schedules, milestones, resources, budgets, and success metrics.
• Run 5+ concurrent initiatives of varying size and complexity: customer production programs (in-house and outsourced processes), Lean event completion plans, and strategic initiatives spanning CDI’s four sites—and at times other Re:Build entities nationwide.
• Stand up and sustain governance structures matched to project scale and complexity; coordinate with Re:Build’s Program Management Office (PMO) where applicable.
• Lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, driving clear accountability across departments.
• Track performance against quality metrics, production schedules, delivery targets, costs, and profitability; synthesize data to guide business decisions.
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies early; escalate with solutions and mitigation strategies.
• Act on the critical path—remove constraints and bottlenecks before they threaten outcomes.
• Apply customer and industry standards and specifications with rigor.
• Facilitate problem solving to resolve technical and operational challenges quickly.
• Keep communication flowing among stakeholders, team members, and customers; provide regular status reports to leadership and customers.
• Jump in to stabilize and recover troubled programs midstream.
• Contribute to proposals and quotes that turn capability into new business.
• Conduct reviews, capture lessons learned, and feed improvements back into the next project.
• As the lead PM, manage, coach, and mentor other project managers, serve as their point of escalation, and establish/maintain PM standards, processes, and best practices.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

What you bring

• 3–5 years of related experience steering multi-threaded projects.
• Education/credentials (one of the following): a non-technical bachelor’s degree (e.g., BBA, BA, BFA); journeyman status in a recognized trade or formal certifications recognized as bachelor’s equivalent; or in-depth industry and role-specific technical skills gained through formal instruction plus on-the-job training.
