Accountant II - Owner Relations & Compliance

Specific Responsibilities The Accountant II for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Revenue, Severance Tax, Royalty, & Owner Relations Accounting team, reporting to the Owner Relations Accounting Manager. This role will be primarily responsible for the following: Respond to Owner Inquiries – perform analysis, work with Revenue, Land Data Management, Operations, Legal, Marketing, and other departments when necessary to formulate a response to owners. Assist with preparation of 1099s to submit to OneSource Perform debit and legal payable analyses and work with Revenue and Land for action. Assist with severance tax, and federal and state agency royalty payments, filings, inquiries, and reports. Assist with revenue accounting for non-operated offshore properties. Prepare various metrics for management review. Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to assigned accounts. Support audits and similar inquiries. Work on special projects as requested by management. Interface with multiple groups and individuals, both internal and external to Apache Corporation. Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting; other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours. 2+ years of professional accounting experience, oil and gas industry required. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation, data manipulation, data summarization, etc.). Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge and experience with SAP and EnergyLink a plus. Severance tax accounting knowledge and experience a plus. Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal. Detail oriented.
