Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Deliver hands-on support to students and collaborate with an education team this summer as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for an Extended School Year (ESY) program near Waterbury, CT. In this rewarding contract position, you’ll support K–12 students during their ESY session, held at a vibrant upper elementary setting. Everyone works together to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment for all learners.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing occupational therapy treatment plans developed by an OT to help students achieve IEP goals
• Supporting students with a variety of needs in small group or individual settings across a diverse K–12 caseload
• Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and staff to promote functional independence within the school environment
• Maintaining accurate documentation of student progress and participation
• Encouraging student confidence and engagement through hands-on activities
• Assisting with adaptive equipment and modification of learning materials as needed

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Current certification as a COTA in Connecticut (required)
• Ideally some prior experience in a school setting
• Strong ability to communicate, collaborate, and build rapport with students and school staff
• Reliable, flexible, and eager to contribute positively to a dynamic ESY program
• Must be available for a contract from July 6 to August 13, Monday–Thursday, 8:00 am–1:15 pm
