Under the clinical supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA administers Occupational Therapy treatments and provides objective measures for evaluation and treatment planning across various care settings, including inpatient, outpatient, home care, skilled nursing, and assisted living environments. Responsibilities Administer Occupational Therapy treatments under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Assist by providing objective measures for evaluation and treatment planning. Perform delegated duties, including clinical observations and objective measures across activities of daily living, leisure/play, and productivity/work. Consult with the Occupational Therapist and other health care team members. Perform therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient needs and medical status. Implement treatment plans and deliver patient care using therapeutic techniques that support daily activities, fine motor skills, gross motor exercises, and functional maximization. Communicate patient progress to the Occupational Therapist. Provide patient and caregiver education regarding treatment, precautions, and equipment use. Complete required documentation: care plan, goals, patient status and progress, visits, discharge summary, and transition plan and summary. Qualifications Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current State of CT Occupational Therapy Assistant license. Current NBCOT COTA Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS upon hire or within 30 days of hire). For Home Care positions: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. #J-18808-Ljbffr Hartford HealthCare
