Job Details Job Location: 14301 East Hampden Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014 Position Type: 0FTE – Unpaid Internship Salary Range: $0.01 – $0.01 Commission Job Category: Clinical Application Status Now Accepting Applications: 2026–2027 Internship Opportunity About the Internship Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is excited to offer a unique internship opportunity for Master’s‑level students seeking hands‑on experience in a specialized mental health setting. The internship runs from May/August2026 through May2027, with flexibility around start and end dates to accommodate academic schedules. While this is an unpaid internship, we provide clinical supervision and will collaborate with your academic program to ensure you receive credit toward your degree. Schedule Interns are expected to commit 16–18 hours per week, with flexibility to align with school requirements. The schedule follows the supervisor’s availability: Monday & Tuesday: Virtual (8:00AM – 6:00PM) Wednesday & Thursday: In‑person (8:00AM – 6:00PM) Role Overview Join our Youth Autism & IDD Counseling Center (AICC‑Y), where you’ll gain valuable experience providing individual, family, and group therapy to youth ages 6–21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. AICC‑Y offers comprehensive outpatient services, including therapy, medication management, and case management, all tailored to meet the unique needs of dually diagnosed youth. As an intern, you’ll be an integral part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. You’ll participate in team meetings, receive professional development, and learn adaptive, evidence‑informed therapeutic strategies. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is energetic, compassionate, and passionate about working with neurodiverse youth in a supportive and innovative environment. Qualifications Required Vaccination and TB Test. At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. All employees must receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on the first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.
