Role and Responsibilities


Reach Truck Operators play a critical role in warehouse operations by handling and organizing inventory efficiently. Key responsibilities include:

• Operating reach trucks to move, locate, stack, and retrieve products in narrow-aisle, high-bay storage systems while adhering to safety protocols
• Performing order picking, stock replenishment, and put-away tasks, ensuring correct items and quantities are moved to designated locations
• Conducting pre-shift and post-shift inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and reporting any malfunctions
• Using handheld RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately record inventory movements
• Participating in cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy
• Collaborating with warehouse staff to optimize storage layout and maximize space utilization

Required Skills and Qualifications


To become a Reach Truck Operator, candidates typically need:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Certification in forklift or reach truck operation (provided by company), demonstrating knowledge of OSHA safety standards
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions
• Experience with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and clamp trucks is highly beneficial
• Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, lifting, and maneuvering equipment safely
