CNC Lathe Machinist – 1 st and 2nd Shift

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for a well-established manufacturing company in Duarte, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality precision parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating 2-axis CNC lathe machines, editing CNC programs, interpreting blueprints, and performing quality inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and production standards.

Position Details

• Location: Duarte, CA
• Shift: 1st and 2nd  Shift
• Pay Rate: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot 2-axis CNC lathe machines for precision machining of plastic and non-metallic components.
• Edit, load, and verify CNC programs to ensure efficient and accurate production.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Verify part dimensions and tolerances to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials or production issues.
• Complete production records, inspection reports, and ERP/MRP documentation accurately.
• Monitor machine performance, cycle times, and tooling to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Perform secondary machining or finishing operations as required.
• Collaborate with supervisors, quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following 5S principles and all company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC lathe setup and machining experience.
• Experience editing and troubleshooting CNC programs.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Solid understanding of machining practices, tooling, feeds, speeds, and quality control.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; JobBoss experience is a plus.
• Strong mathematical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
