Offshore Rope Access Level I Combo WelderThe Offshore Rope Access Level I Combo Welder safely supervises, plans, and executes rope access operations, including but not limited to inspections, upkeep, repairs, blasting, painting and rigging, torquing, assisting fitting or welding tasks on offshore platforms.Essential Functions:Use rope access techniques to perform and lead rope access technicians in advanced inspections, maintenance, repairs, blasting, painting and rigging, torquing, fitting and / or welding on offshore platforms under the direct supervision of a Rope Access Level III TechnicianUse welding equipment to weld on offshore platforms while using rope access techniquesDevelop and implement rope access work plans and risk assessmentsAdhere to safety procedures, including proper equipment inspection, fall protection measures and communication protocolsDemonstrate the knowledge and skills of a SPRAT or IRATA Rope Access Level I TechnicianCoordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of rope access operations with overall project objectivesConduct on-site safety briefings and training sessions for team membersPrepare detailed reports of all work performed, including any issues or incidentsMaintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and inventoryIdentify and remove damaged rope access equipmentIdentify and mitigate potential hazards in the work environment, ensuring a safe and compliant worksiteMaintain climbing logbook per SPRAT/IRATA guidelinesStay updated on industry standards and best practices for rope access workPerform other duties assigned by supervisorBenefits Offered:Earned Wage AccessHealth, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid HolidaysPaid VacationLife InsuranceDisability InsuranceSafety AwardsCompany StoreEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)RequirementsPhysical Requirements:StandingWalkingTurning, twisting, bending, and stoopingPushing and PullingReaching, forward and overheadClimbingBalancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeingLifting - employees must lift to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 poundsJob Requirements:1+ years experience as a Rope Access Level I Technician required2+ years experience in offshore welding requiredMust possess an active SPRAT or IRATA Level I CertificationMust possess advanced theoretical knowledge of rope access equipment and techniquesAbility to work at heightsAbility to work in a team environmentStrong leadership and supervisory skillsKnowledge of safety procedures and emergency response protocolsMust be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screenMust be able to pass a background checkValid TWIC cardDesirable Experience, Education, and Training:Highschool diploma or equivalent preferredTools, Equipment, and Technology:Rope access gear, including harnesses, helmets, ropes, etc.Blasting, painting and rigging, fitting or welding tools and equipmentEnvironmental Conditions:80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas, etc.)Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas.
