Our core values, which we call BEHIVE , are: B – Boldly Go E – Embrace Equity H – Humble Confidence I – Inclusive Stewardship V – Value Reputation E – Extraordinary Experience Position Summary The Marketing Specialist supports the planning, development, and implementation of marketing strategies and activities for our energy‑efficiency efforts with utility and government clients in Illinois. The role helps clients and communities use less energy, save money, and protect the environment through sound marketing and outreach initiatives. The specialist reports to the Sr. Marketing Manager and works closely with graphic design, program managers, operations, outreach teams, clients, and vendor partners. Key responsibilities include writing and routing email campaigns, updating marketing collateral, reviewing materials for compliance, drafting copy for utility partners, ensuring brand guidelines, supporting outreach to Program Allies or community partners, monitoring campaign results, and preparing status reports and presentation materials for client and Program Ally meetings and events. Position Duties and Responsibilities Embrace and operate within our core values. Work directly with the Sr. Marketing Manager and client to implement marketing and communications plans that educate customers about energy efficiency and drive participation in energy‑efficiency programs. Develop on‑ and off‑line marketing materials such as website content, direct mailers, email communications, brochures, testimonials, technical fact sheets, incentive application forms, newsletters, and more. Provide written reports and updates in client‑facing meetings (virtual or in‑person). Project‑manage all elements of assigned marketing projects and work closely with the graphic design team to develop brand‑compliant materials. Prepare weekly agendas to communicate project statuses to internal and external teams. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of experience in a marketing, advertising, public relations agency, or consulting environment. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Skilled at cross‑functional communication and a team player. Experience representing diverse cultures in marketing projects and campaigns. Detail‑oriented with the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities. Proven experience implementing marketing communication plans, including collateral development, email and direct mail campaigns, advertising, and social media projects. Proficient use of computer and online tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and social networking sites. Availability for some client‑required evening or weekend events. Desired Qualifications Experience with copywriting, editing, and proofreading is strongly preferred. Travel Requirements Up to 10% locally and throughout the Ameren Illinois territory. Physical Demands and Work Environment Required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls. Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Noise levels are typically low to moderate. Pay Transparency and Benefits Compensation Range: $63,000 – $90,000 annually. Eligible employees may receive additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. Walker‑Miller Energy Services offers health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
