Estimator for Custom Fabrication, Museum Exhibits, Custom Signage & Themed Environments Location: High Springs, Florida (Gainesville Area) Job Type: Full-time | In-person (Remote/Hybrid Not Available - Please do not apply unless you are willing to relocate and work in-office) ThemeWorks designs and builds highly customized exhibits, themed environments, specialty signage, immersive attractions, and other one‑of‑a‑kind projects for museums, theme parks, zoos, aquariums, cruise lines, and cultural destinations around the world. We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team. This position is intended for an experienced estimator with a proven track record of preparing estimates for custom fabrication projects. Our work is estimated element‑by‑element, component‑by‑component, and process‑by‑process—not through square‑foot pricing models or quantity takeoffs. Success in this role requires an understanding of how custom projects are fabricated, finished, integrated, shipped, and installed, along with the organizational skills and attention to detail necessary to accurately capture those costs. The ideal candidate will bring estimating experience from a custom fabrication environment such as museum exhibits, scenic fabrication, themed entertainment, specialty signage, custom millwork, architectural features, or related industries. Primary Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, bid packages, and project requirements. Attend pre‑bid meetings as required. Develop fabrication and installation strategies that align with project requirements and budgets. Prepare detailed estimates and proposals. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing. Collaborate with project managers, department supervisors, engineers, and fabricators to develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and installation costs. Identify scope gaps, project risks, assumptions, and opportunities during the estimating process. Support proposal development and project pursuit efforts. Qualifications Significant experience preparing estimates for custom fabrication, exhibits, scenic environments, specialty construction, custom signage, millwork, or similar project types. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Strong ability to interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents. Practical understanding of fabrication and construction methods. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and develop complete, accurate estimates with minimal supervision. Because estimating at ThemeWorks involves close collaboration with project managers, department supervisors, and fabrication teams, this position is intended to be based in High Springs, Florida. Relocation assistance may be available for highly qualified candidates.
