Manager, Semantic Intelligence

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Manager of Semantic Intelligence to lead development of semantic and AI capabilities within the Innovative Medicine Technology team. This technical leadership role involves translating business requirements into scalable data platform solutions while collaborating with commercial strategy, stakeholders, and engineering teams in a regulated enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Global Commercial Strategy Organization and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data and AI solutions
• Lead technical design, development, and deployment of Semantic Intelligence capabilities on the data platform
• Design and deliver reusable data products that enhance enterprise data accessibility, interoperability, and AI readiness
• Establish engineering standards for architecture, software development, testing, deployment, and production support
• Mentor technical team members and promote engineering best practices across the J&J Data and AI community

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Software Engineering, or related field with 2+ years industry experience; or M.S. with 5+ years experience
• Proven experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale data products, cloud platforms, or AI applications in production
• Expertise in semantic modeling, enterprise metadata, knowledge graphs, or comparable data-context connection approaches
• Strong knowledge of modern AI architectures including large language models, RAG, vector retrieval, and responsible AI controls
• Experience in forward-deployed engineering or solutions engineering with direct end-user collaboration
• Demonstrated proficiency with cloud platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, and cloud-native services
• Track record delivering enterprise data platforms, semantic layers, or knowledge management solutions at scale
