Summary
Performs moderately complex purchasing activities to procure materials, equipment, parts, supplies, and services. Exercises discretion and judgment in vendor selection, cost analysis, negotiations, and supplier performance while supporting production, quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Procure materials, parts, supplies, equipment, and services to support production requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Perform cost analysis, evaluate bids, and negotiate pricing and terms within established authority and budgets.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities, select suppliers, and provide recommendations to leadership as needed.
• Communicate Jamco requirements and technical specifications to suppliers and support vendor development.
• Work with Quality, Inspection, internal users, and suppliers to resolve defective or unacceptable goods and services.
• Identify alternate parts and sourcing opportunities to improve cost, availability, and lead times.
• Maintain accurate purchasing information and support timely delivery of materials.
• Assist with training and mentoring team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 2–3 years of buying/purchasing experience .
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems; Epicor experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic purchasing calculations, including discounts, percentages, and related cost analysis.
• Strong negotiation, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work professionally with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently under moderate supervision and manage changing priorities.
• Successful completion of required pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing. Work environment is generally quiet.
