Senior Administrative Assistant (Temporary-to-Hire)

As the Senior Administrative Assistant (temporary-to-hire) with this bipartisan nonprofit in Washington, DC, you will help manage the day-to-day operations of a boutique office while ensuring the principal is supported administratively. This in-office opportunity is ideal for an experienced administrative professional who exercises exceptional judgment, possesses a humble spirit, and enjoys being the central point of coordination across leadership, events, and office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage calendars, scheduling priorities, and day-to-day coordination for senior leadership.
  • Screen and prioritize incoming communication, directing competing requests and communication with professionalism and sound judgment for internal and external contacts.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, meeting logistics, and related administrative support.
  • Provide hands-on support for events, meetings, and leadership engagements, including high-profile breakfasts, luncheons, conferences, and community gatherings.
  • Assist with preparations for large-scale organizational events, ensuring timelines, materials, and guest coordination remain on track.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support leadership initiatives, outreach efforts, and operational needs.
  • Maintain organized administrative systems, records, and correspondence with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Support expense tracking, document preparation, and general office coordination for a small collaborative team.
  • Handle sensitive donor, stakeholder, and leadership information with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.

  • Established administrative background. You bring around five or more years of experience supporting executives and keeping operations organized in a high-touch professional setting.

  • Professional ambassador. You bring a polished communication style and can effectively support interactions with leadership, guests, and high-profile contacts.
  • Technically proficient. You are comfortable working within Microsoft Office and related administrative systems.
  • Event-oriented mindset. You enjoy supporting logistics and coordination for meetings, conferences, and special events.

The salary listed reflects the anticipated compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, location, business considerations, and internal equity. Final offer amounts are determined at the employers discretion.
