Assists in coordinating hospital and patient care activities to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees, and other health care personnel. Identifies actual and/or potential problems, which affect smooth operations of any hospital department and takes appropriate corrective action. Guides and supports staff to facilitate effective patient care utilizing professional standards and practice. Facilitates resource utilization that supports patient-centered care. Collaborates with patient logistics for patient placement as needed.Job Duties\n\n Manages daily activities to ensure effective operations and communications and that departments remain in compliance with all regulatory bodies.\n Supervises, monitors and evaluates the quality and effectiveness of patient care, including, when appropriate, in-home evaluations of field staff.\n Reviews and monitors appropriateness of nursing care plans and directs the staff to modify plans.\n Coordinates and participates in on-call responsibilities and maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.\n Develops, implements, evaluates and participates in office specific continuing education and orientation programs.\n Identifies opportunities for improvement and communicates to the managers and administration.\n Participates as a member of or directs the professional advisory committee, infection prevention, and process improvement teams, including conducting chart audits.\n Creates an environment of caring, welcoming and nurturing for new employees utilizing the organization's mission and values.\n Utilizes appropriate and acceptable intervention behaviors and communication styles in order to be an effective liaison and resource.\n Maintains a climate of open communication by listening, providing regular feedback and involving employees in the implementation process.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n Specialized Diploma in Nursing.\n 4 years 4 years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital setting\n Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.\n Knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to the practice of nursing.\n Knowledge of medical terminology.\n Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA.\n Strong clinical data analytic skills measuring process and outcomes in healthcare.\n RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and\n Successful completion of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation course or passing score on the challenge exam. Achieve a passing score on basic proficiency in medication administration exam for external hires.\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.\n Job Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
