Role Description The Optometrist is responsible for delivering comprehensive eye care services to patients in a full-time, on-site role based in Hampton, GA. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting routine and medical eye examinations, diagnosing and managing vision conditions, prescribing lenses and contact lenses, and identifying ocular diseases for appropriate treatment or referral. The Optometrist will educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventive care, while documenting findings accurately in patient records and maintaining compliance with all clinical and regulatory standards. The role also involves collaborating with support staff to ensure an efficient patient flow, assisting with eyewear consultations when needed, and participating in practice initiatives to enhance patient experience and practice growth. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in the state of Georgia (or eligibility to obtain). Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions. Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations, explaining diagnoses, treatments, and eyewear options in understandable terms. Commitment to accurate charting, adherence to clinical protocols, and maintenance of patient confidentiality and safety standards. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a small practice team, supporting staff and contributing to smooth clinic operations. Interest in staying current with developments in optometry, including new technologies, treatments, and best practices in patient care.
