Custodian - 3rd Shift

Job Description Job Title: Custodian - 3rd Shift Department: Custodial Services 3rd Shift Salary: $15.19 Employment Terms: Full-time position; 3rd shift position working from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. with a half-hour lunch break. Primary Duty The Custodian will perform various custodial duties to include but not limited to the cleaning of restrooms, lounges, offices, classrooms, and corridors in accordance with the standard operating procedures of the department. The Custodian must be flexible and show the ability to work as a part of a team with a willingness to accept guidance and directives from the Custodial Supervisor and/or the Director of Operations. Essential Functions Clean, stock, and sanitize areas using established practices and procedures. Use authorized cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the buildings looking clean and professional. Adhere to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone. Secure and lock assigned areas. Assist with event set-up and tear down. Use and maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report all repairs needed. Assist in cleaning of spills. Change light bulbs throughout campus as needed. Observe and report the need of repairs throughout campus. Perform other duties as assigned. Core Competencies Demonstrate personal integrity and trustworthiness. Skills: Basic communication skills; basic computer skills. Working Conditions Custodial Services is divided into four shifts: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Each shift will include a thirty-minute lunch break. This position may work various hours depending on the needs of the department with occasional weekend coverage. This position may be exposed to cold and hot conditions throughout the shift. This position must demonstrate safety responsibility and the ability to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE). This position is considered essential staff. Essential staff provide services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the University, ensure continuity of key operations, and maintain and protect University properties. Should the University close for any reason, essential staff will report to work as usual. Equipment / Materials Used Custodial cleaning equipment, custodial chemicals, office machines, lifts, and motor vehicles. Typical Physical Demands Requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, and/or reach, as well as climb a ladder and clear snow and ice when needed; Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate standard custodial equipment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
