Job Description Inova Nursing Professional Development Department is looking for a RN Job Description Inova Nursing Professional Development Department is looking for a RN Clinical Educator to work with our Critical Care and Progressive Care (PCU) team supporting RN team members. This position will have systemwide oversite that includes working with Inova Alexandria Hospital, Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, Inova Fair Oaks, Inova Mount Vernon, and Inova Loudoun Hospital. Clinical Educator Nursing Job Responsibilities Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members. Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them. Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization. Hours: full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs) Minimum Requirements Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following: Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses Complete Masters within 3 years of start date. Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License Preferred Qualifications Critical Care experience (ICU) About Us We are Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
