Overview Job Title: Extended Day Program Assistant Department: Extended Day Reports To: Extended Day Program Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly On-Site: Yes Schedule: Academic Year (10-Month) Schedule (Start Date: August 20, 2026) The role may also be required to support Extended Day from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM during Faculty In-Service Days and other full-day needs. Position Summary/Overview The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our Extended Day Program as an Extended Day Program Assistant. We are seeking a candidate who is able to support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background that demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of intercultural fluency. The Extended Day Program Assistant reports to the Extended Day Program Manager and works in support of the school’s after school program, serving K-8th grade students, while also supporting colleagues, faculty, staff, and outside vendors. While other duties may be assigned, a qualified candidate will be able to manage the key responsibilities and tasks listed below: Responsibilities Supervise activities for grades K-5, while sometimes supervising grades 6-8 Lead after school activities that include, but are not limited to the following: inside art and science activities, outside sports and free play activities, and gym sports and games Create an inclusive environment for students by being open and welcoming, building strong relationships with students and families, and helping students resolve differences Prepare for student snack service Collaborate with the Extended Day Program team regarding student programming, daily preparations, and vendor oversight Experience and Professional Competencies A high school diploma or GED is required Experience supervising school-age children required, with one or more years preferred Training in education, childhood development or related field is preferred Credentials and Requirements Have a current Adult and Children CPR, First Aid and AED Certification (or receive one soon after hire date) Meet the school’s standards when completing two separate background screenings Compensation/Benefits Hourly Rate: $31.10 per hour The school offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package to benefits-eligible employees, which includes: Employer-paid medical insurance for eligible employees (includes an employee paid buy-up plan option) Employer-paid dental and vision insurance for eligible employees Health Savings Account with employer contribution for eligible employees Medical, dental and vision insurance for dependents of eligible employees (employee paid) Flexible Spending Accounts (medical and dependent care) available to eligible employees (employee paid) Employer-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance for eligible employees Employer-paid Life Insurance for eligible employees Optional Voluntary Life Insurance available to eligible employees (employee paid) Optional Voluntary Accident Insurance available to eligible employees (employee paid) Optional Voluntary Critical Illness Insurance available to eligible employees (employee paid) Retirement Plan available to eligible employees.
