As a Dedicated Long Haul OTR Driver at Upper Lakes Foods you’ll operate a tractor-trailer in compliance with state and federal transportation laws, ensuring safety and efficiency on every journey. You’ll conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, turning in DVIR reports weekly to keep our operations top-notch. Maintaining DOT hours of service logs—whether electronic or manual—is key, as is managing your time to meet scheduled customer delivery appointments.

You’ll uphold load integrity and handle essential paperwork, including signed invoices and shipping bills of lading. Building effective relationships with customers and the community is part of your role, alongside regular attendance and performing other duties as needed. To thrive as a Dedicated Long Haul OTR Driver at Upper Lakes Foods, Inc., you’ll need a unique blend of skills and determination. A clean driving record with no moving violations or DOT reportable accidents in the last three years is essential, along with a solid understanding of DOT regulations. Proficiency in using tools like GPS systems, including XRS, is key to navigating your routes with ease. You must be adaptable and communicate effectively, tailoring your style to fit different audiences while ensuring safety compliance. Strong time-management and attention-to-detail skills are critical for trip planning and documentation accuracy.

You should be prepared to work in all weather conditions, demonstrating resilience and adherence to safety practices. Physical stamina is important, as you’ll spend prolonged periods sitting, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering within the truck.
