Billing Operations Specalist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Operations Specialist to process a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, transaction-focused work and takes pride in keeping billing moving smoothly. About the Role The Billing Operations Specialist supports Accounts Payable and Direct Billing by reviewing, validating, coding, receiving, and processing supplier invoices in JD Edwards (JDE). The position works closely with purchase order, shipment, and freight information to help ensure accurate and timely customer billing. This fast-paced role processes more than 125 invoices per day. Success requires accuracy, efficiency, consistent follow-through, and the ability to identify and route exceptions without losing momentum. What You’ll Do Invoice Processing & Purchase Order Review Process 125+ direct billing invoices daily while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations Review supplier invoices and validate purchase order, quantity, pricing, shipment, freight, carrier, and invoice information in JDE Apply required coding and documentation and maintain shipment references and supporting invoice details Compare invoices with purchase order data and update receiving information when needed Research open, closed, backordered, canceled, and exception-status purchase orders Process invoices in chronological order and meet established turnaround expectations, including month-end priorities Freight, Exceptions & Workflow Verify freight terms, handling codes, carrier details, and customer freight billing requirements Confirm shipment and delivery information and complete required freight or shipment updates in JDE Identify duplicate invoices, pricing variances, quantity mismatches, freight exceptions, and missing purchase order information Research discrepancies and route exceptions or approvals to Purchasing and other business partners Document findings and maintain clear audit support for exception transactions Maintain organized electronic invoice files, processing queues, and workflow folders Support practical improvements that make invoice processing more accurate and efficient Follow established procedures, internal controls, and applicable Quality Management System requirements Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred One to three years of Accounts Payable, invoice processing, transaction processing, or related accounting experience preferred Experience working in an ERP system; JD Edwards experience strongly preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook Strong data-entry accuracy, organization, time management, and attention to detail Ability to follow standardized procedures, work independently, identify discrepancies, and manage a high volume of transactions Success in the Role Success is measured by processing 125+ invoices per day with strong accuracy, minimizing duplicate billing and processing errors, meeting daily and month-end turnaround expectations, consistently following established procedures and controls, and routing exceptions for timely resolution.
