Vacuum Furnace Operator 2 (Vacuum Braze) 2nd Shift

Essential Functions & Responsibilities Participate in and support team initiatives; receive guidance, training & feedback from employees. Cross-train other employees as needed based on knowledge and experience. Comply with all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation. Communicate with team to ensure all members are aware of new issues and/or processes. Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of parts. Select and obtain tool fixtures and programs to anneal and harden a wide variety of metal parts and components. Assemble and braze metal and ceramic parts using a variety of braze alloys. Interpret process sheets/print specifications and apply strict specifications while working within tight tolerances. Operate and maintain multiple furnaces in accordance with NQWI4.09.2.16 standards. Enter program data, change over, adjust equipment, vary temperatures, timing, furnace internal atmospheric conditions by introduction or evacuation of gases as specified or directed. Effectively and efficiently produce parts according to certification and quality guidelines. Assist with prototypes or first‑time builds. Assist in maintenance and calibration support groups in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of equipment. Record and log data and verify completeness of documentation to comply with NADCAP requirements. Complete a minimum of ninety (90) days of on‑the‑job training before certification and annually recertify in accordance with TP‑004 Vacuum Braze Checklist. Communicate professionally and effectively with peers, leadership and customers. Report problems to appropriate resource and/or coach. Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures per position requirements. Understand and abide by GE Leadership behaviors. Basic Qualifications High School Education or GED equivalency. Minimum one year of manufacturing experience. Proficiency with basic hand tools and measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, calipers, go‑no‑go gauges, dial indicators, etc.). Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation. Strong mechanical aptitude with basic mathematical conversion calculations. Proficient use of basic computer applications. Ability and willingness to operate high‑temperature ovens and furnaces. Desired Qualifications Experience in a self‑directed teaming environment. Experience in a manufacturing environment working with furnaces. Familiarity with 6S and lean manufacturing knowledge. Physical Demands Continuous use of hands and fingers in repetitive actions. Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, squatting, climbing, and/or balancing. Continuous sitting and occasional lifting up to 20lbs and pushing/pulling up to 22lbs. Compensation The pay for this position is $23.00 per hour plus 10% for the shift difference. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of the base salary.
