Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately and safely while maintaining patient-centered care
• Verify prescriptions, dosing and interactions to protect patient safety
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and the care team to optimize medication therapy
• Provide medication counseling and education to patients and their families
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication safety programs
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory and institutional policies
• Support inventory management and medication distribution processes

Qualifications

• Active pharmacist license in Florida or eligibility to obtain licensure promptly
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
• Experience in hospital or acute care pharmacy settings preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Familiarity with sterile compounding and medication safety standards is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset

Education

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred; Bachelor of Pharmacy considered if applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions and dosing calculations
• Experience with electronic health records and pharmacy information systems
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Detail-oriented approach to dispensing and verification
• Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
