Human Resources Specialist

A mid-sized service organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to support a wide range of HR functions, including recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management and HR operations. This is a hybrid, temp-to-hire opportunity based in Irvine, CA, offering up to $35/hour. Responsibilities Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates while partnering with department managers on staffing needs Conduct background checks and employment eligibility verifications Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee recognition programs Administer employee benefits, including 401(k) plans, leave programs, and enrollment Coordinate and track 90-day and annual performance evaluations Support employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management Process employee terminations, exit interviews, and offboarding activities Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring confidentiality Track required employee training, including safety, anti-harassment, onboarding, compliance, and professional licensure Respond to employment-related inquiries from employees, applicants, and managers Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies Stay current on HR best practices and employment law updates Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience Strong knowledge of HR processes, employee relations, and employment law Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word Comfortable learning new systems and HR software quickly Reliable and dependable Experience in a law firm and/or the mortgage industry is preferred Bachelor's degree and HR certification are preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
