Job Title: Accountant – Advanced Professional (Marcus Center of Excellence for Cell Biomanufacturing), Limited-Term Location: Atlanta, Georgia Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 300570 Job Summary The Accountant - Advanced Professional is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, analysis and reconciliation of financial transactions; examination, investigation, audit and review of records, reports, financial statements, information systems, and management practices to ensure compliance with regulations and policies and efficient and effective operations. This role is critical in developing and implementing procedures to ensure uniform accounting practices, internal controls, and compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Institute policies. Responsibilities Compile and verify the accuracy and validity of complex accounting transactions, often requiring in-depth analysis and resolution. Prepare reconciliations of various financial data. Post and/or review posting of transactions to appropriate accounts. Prepare and review financial schedules and reports. Maintain financial records. Prepare budget revisions, as needed. May provide explanations and/or work direction to other accountants and clerical personnel regarding more complex assignments. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience: Three years of job related experience. Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities This job requires application of advanced accounting principles and practices as they relate to recording and reporting financial transactions and related data within university business units. Analytical and problem solving skills are needed as is advanced use of business and accounting related computer applications. Background Check This is a position of trust. Georgia Tech retains the right to terminate this assignment at any time for cause or, in its sole discretion, for convenience; in either case, Georgia Tech's obligation shall be limited to payment for hours and/or days worked before the termination date exactly three years from start date.
